Director of Cloud Engineering

We are looking for an experienced Director of Cloud Engineering to lead and advance our product packaging and deployment capabilities using the latest modern approaches. In this role, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining the Mortgage365 cloud platform to ensure our products are secure, reliable and scalable, in a fully productized configuration. You will also partner with the Product Development and Operations Teams to create the architecture and processes needed to manage code delivery pipelines for development, demo and production environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic leadership- Define and execute the overall Cloud Engineering/DevOps Strategy aligned with Mortgage365’s goals and roadmap.
  • Spearhead initiatives to increase overall efficiency within the Cloud Engineering team.
  • Responsible for leading a team of 3 engineers to design, build, and operationally manage a secure and scalable software.
  • Partner with the Head of Engineering to locate gaps within Cloud Engineering and implement solutions by providing clear goals for all areas of the Cloud Engineering team and having accountability for their outcomes.
  • Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company to adopt and continually improve best practices.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for deployment and monitoring of our SaaS product.
  • Oversee after-hours production release events, both scheduled and emergency.
  • Responsible for the implementation and documentation of compliance and security standards.
  • Manage the resolution of high-severity production incidents where a critical outage may require immediate response time from the team.

Your Background

  • Significant experience in working with cloud services, such as Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, etc. in Azure (preferred) or a similar cloud provider
  • Hands-on experience deploying and monitoring SaaS products in the cloud. Ideally in a Bring Your Own Cloud/Private cloud environment
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Significant experience building native cloud components and services, networking, security and monitoring performance
  • Background in organizations that are primarily software product companies with significant understanding of modern SDLC processes and code management practices
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture patterns and best practices
  • Experience with Microsoft DevOps tools, including Microsoft Azure DevOps, VSTS, CI/CD pipelines for .NET Framework and .NET Core SaaS products (Linux and Windows) preferred
  • Experience/exposure to designing and maintaining configuration and infrastructure as code
  • Understanding of software development life cycle, continuous integration and delivery
  • Experience creating and maintaining tools and processes for the building, branching, and deployment of Enterprise software solutions
  • Knowledge of modern cloud engineering technologies and processes, with some experience or exposure to deploying them within an enterprise development team

Compensation & Benefits

The target annual salary for this role performed in the US is $160,000-$180,000. The exact compensation will be determined by the skill and experience of qualified candidates.

Internship: Software Engineer - Front End

We are looking for a Software Engineer – Front End Intern to maintain and build upon the existing solutions innovate forward-thinking applications primarily for the Front-End of our product. As a Front-End Software Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our development team to create engaging and user-friendly web applications. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates who are passionate about front-end development and eager to learn in a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the design and implementation of smaller-sized projects and features.
  • Conduct testing and debugging to ensure high-quality output.
  • Support the architecture, design and build front end web applications and components to support new and existing product initiatives.
  • Work closely with other Mortgage365 engineers, product team, and customers to ensure deep understanding of their needs to create applications and interfaces that anticipate and solve complex problems faced by users of the platform.
  • Assist in crafting aesthetically and functionally compelling user experiences based on collaborative and individual efforts to optimize useful outcomes of the platform.
  • Manage and prioritize daily work according to sprint backlog with significant ability to self-organize.
  • Assist in project documentation including code and solution specifications.
  • Create responsive web components from product mockups.=

Your Background

  • Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field or bootcamp.
  • Understanding of web development principles and best practices
  • Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with API architecture, including XML, JSON, Angular and modern real-time application-based services design
  • Familiarity of software design patterns
  • An understanding of internet browsers and how browser settings affect web access and usability
  • Understanding of device agnostic, responsive development, and design
  • Familiarity managing code sets within VS Code or similar IDE, and Source Control Systems such as Azure DevOps along with use of Git
  • Understanding or experience consuming diverse APIs for multiple system integration patterns

Compensation

This is a part-time internship position for up to 32 hours per week. $20-30/hour. Hybrid role- in office Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays (Highlands Ranch). Exact compensation will be determined by the skill and experience of qualified candidates, and can change at anytime based on local hiring market conditions.
